January 19, 2016

Associate Editor at Nonwovens Industry
“Russian Textile Week,” the first edition of the largest industry congress and exhibition event in Russia, will be held in Moscow from February 23-26. 2016. During “Russian Textile Week,” the industry’s top five events will be held at the Expocentre fairground at the same time: Techtextil Russia – the trade fair for technical textiles, nonwovens and protective clothing (organized by Messe Frankfurt RUS); Inlegmash – equipment for the production and processing of textiles; CJF – children’s fashion. Spring, Intertkan – fabrics and textile materials; and the international industry forum “Legpromforum 2016,” where the challenges of the industry will be discussed with the participation of the government structures. Techtextil Russia is the leading trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens in Russia. It brings together technologies for the whole textile creation chain: from the choice of raw materials and equipment, up to apparel textiles for every sector of the industry. In 2016, Techtextil Russia will host its 8th edition. The last exhibition attracted 180 exhibitors from 20 countries and more than 4500 trade visitors from 26 nations. Inlegmash is the largest and the oldest International Exhibition for Textiles Manufacturing and Processing, annually bringing together more than 100 exhibitors from 40 countries. CJF is the Russian major trend and purchasing platform for buyers, wholesalers and retail trader in the field of children’s clothes and shoes. Interfabric will take place for the first time in 2016 and aims to present the manufacturers of clothes, knitwear and products for special purposes. Finally, the International Forum of Light Industry Legpromforum will take the central place of congress as part of the Russian Week of Textile and Light Industry. It will be held for the third time and aims to create an effective communication platform for dialogue between the government and all chains of textile industry representatives, where topical issues of the industry development and the development of the consumer market will be discussed. Russian Textile Week aims to provide to trade visitors a unique platform for expansion of business communication with manufacturers and suppliers of the whole Russian textile and light industry. It will present the new developments and achievements of the industry and the latest innovation technologies from abroad. The format of the biggest industry business and exhibition platform will attract professional visitors from all regions of Russia, CIS and other countries, thus creating huge opportunities for the development of the industry in general and participating exhibitors and visitors in particular. According to the president of Souzlegprom, Andrey Razbrodin, the idea of bringing together industry-leading events on the same fairground within the Russian Textile Week found support of the government: “Until now, there has been no exhibition and business platform which could represent the entire industry. Now the situation has changed. The idea has received the official support of Ministry of the Industry and the Trade of the Russian Federation.” Managing director of Messe Frankfurt RUS, Eugen Alles, welcomed the initiative of the “Russian Textile Week” – a project that corresponds to modern trends in the development of the exhibition business. “The leading international exhibitions in Europe, America and Asia are example of the enlargement of exhibition projects. Consolidation gives a synergistic effect, allowing us to achieve significant results at the lowest cost,” says Alles. He also stressed that holding the largest specialized exhibitions at the same time and on the same fairground will give a powerful impetus to the development of research and production bases of the textile and light industry of Russia. “Our participants, exhibitors and target audience are interested only when we save their main resources: time and money,” says deputy general director of ZAO Expocentre Mikhail Tolkachev. “Professionals of the industry positively assessed the parallel holding of the exhibitions ‘Inlegmash’ and ‘Techtextil Russia’ in previous years.” The format of the week will allow participants to visit the fairground, discuss a wide range of top issues and work out solutions. The International Industrial “Legpromforum” held in the frame of the week will help find the ways to use existing strengths and identify the main directions for development of the textile and light industry in Russia. As mentioned by state secretary – deputy minister of industry trade of Russia Victor Evtukhov in November, the subject of technical textiles will take special place in the domestic light industry: “There is a large segment of technical products for the medical, automotive, aviation and shipbuilding needs. Today, this market has about 30% of the whole industry sales. Over the past five years, the volume of production of nonwoven materials in our country has grown by eight times. In Russia, the demand for chemical fiber is higher than its production in average by 70%. At the same time, we import fabrics containing polyester fibers and yarns in a total of $631.9 million. In order to change the situation in general, we are launching a number of innovative projects for the production of synthetic fibers.” For more information on Techtextil Russia, visit www.techtextil.ru.
